Vintage Bros Boat Sales is extremely proud to introduce this beautiful 18' 1962 Chris Chart Cavalier. It is hull # 106 of a total production of 160 that year. Chris Craft's Cavalier series was a slightly less expensive alternative to there traditional mahogany planked sport boat.
The value in this boat is in the overall originally as well as the long-term ownership. This boat was purchased by the current owner in 1963 when the boat had just one season of use!
At Vintage Bros we are enthusiasts first and boat brokers second. We enjoy helping our customers buy and sell boats we would love to own ourselves!!
Hull
The hull on this boat is in great condition with no visible rot or other wood issues. The white/cream hull sides could use a coat of paint to be perfect. It would be an easy weekend project for even the most inexperienced classic boat owner. According to the current owner the blue vinyl on the gunners and below at the sheer is original to the boat. The bottom was fiberglassed numerous years ago which was a factory option when these boats were new.
Interior
The front and back seat vinyl have been replaced over the last 58 years. However they are a close match to the original factory colors. The steering wheel is in beautiful condition with no splits or cracks. The gauges are original and are clear and appear as new. The flooring is red and makes the boat 'pop'!
Engine
The engine is a reverse rotation 283 that was rebuilt a number of years ago. The seller says he thinks it has about 70 hours on it since the rebuild. The engine starts right up, runs smoothly and idles evenly. The factory rated this motor at 185 hp.
Overall
This boat is a must see for anyone who wants to get into the classic boating hobby. It is attractive and easy to maintain.
