HULL
This boat retains much of its original planking. According to the seller, the bottom was replaced with a no soak bottom by The Wooden Boat Shop in the early 2000's it can go in the water dry with no soak up. The hull side planking is highly figured and appears furniture-like in its gloss and luster. Recent upgrades include the bottom being scraped and sanded with 4 coats of CPES, 4 coats of interlux, and 3 coats of racing bronze. The hullsides and deck have recently received 4 coats of varnish as well.
INTERIOR
The interior of this boat has been replaced from the original but is beautiful and period correct. The steering wheel is mostly free of defects, and the gauges are clear and easy to read. At this time, the horn and the added speedometer do not work. These should be an easy repair.
MECHANICAL
The engine in this boat is the infamous Chris Craft 'K' . The engine is rebuilt and is equipped with a 12V conversion for easy starting. Other updates include dual battery switch, wiring with fuse bar, 2 new batteries, and a rebuilt generator.
This model was considered such a good all-around performer for watersports of all kinds, including fishing. This motor is torquey and moves this Sportsman along very well. The trailer is a dual axle unit that was powered coated and tows quite well.
