Vintage Bros Boat Sales is thrilled to offer this gorgeous example of the wholly grail of antique and classic boats: the per-war 19' Barrelback. This boat, hull number 48562, was boat 63 in the production run of a total of 433 made from 1939-1942. It features the highly sought after 'single plank' covering boards.

The value of this boat is in it's originally. The current long-term owner has been the steward of this vessel for a few decades and has cared for it meticulously. Bought from the original Canadian owner, the seller believes that all the planks on this boat are the same ones the factory installed.

At Vintage Bros we are antique and classic boat enthusiasts first and brokers second.  We love connecting buyers and sellers, sharing the passion of the classics, and helping people own boats we too would love to own as well!

HULL

The hull sides are ribbon-striped, old growth, phillipean mahogany and are spectacular. The grain is clear and the finish is beautiful: like fine furniture. The original hull bottom has been wooded, caulked, treated with C.P.E.S., epoxy barrier coated, and painted copper bronze. The deck seams have been varnished over in true Canadian fashion.

INTERIOR

The interior was redone at some point prior to the the current owner's stewardship. As you can see by the pictures it's a beautiful, dark green in color. According to the hull card the factory interior was Maroon leather.  The gauges are clear and easy to read and it has the sought after banjo wheel.

MECHANICAL

The 130 hp 'M' was rebuilt by a local machine shop that specializes in vintage engines. The Paragon transmission and distributor was rebuilt by Van Ness Engineering. Electronic ignition was added to insure reliability. The trailer is a single axle Eagle that was rebunked to the hull of the boat. Tires were replaced in 2018.

OVERVIEW

What a find!! The epitome of desirability: unrestored meticulously cared for 19' Barrel, single plank covering boards, rebuilt 'M'! It checks all the boxes! Please call Jim at 513 678 9379.
