Vintage Bros. Boat Sales is extremely excited and proud to introduce for sale this beautiful 30' 1972 Lyman Islander Flybridge Sedan This boat is an original vessel that has been well maintained its entire life. Interesting fact about this boat (Hull number L-1176) is that it is the second to last 30' hull Lyman produced in wood. The end of an era for Lyman boats. At Vintage Bros. we are antique and classic boat enthusiasts first and boat brokers second. We love what we do and would be proud to own any of the beautiful boats we offer for sale. Hull The bottom on this boat is original with a few planks and rib ends addressed in 2005. The seller says that it could use 2 short planks at the transom as well as rudder blocks. Lyman used 3M 5200 to bed all stakes starting in mid 1966 so the later boats like this one, are known to be extremely watertight. This boat was enjoyed and in the water in 2019. The hull was professionally painted in 2019 by Custom Marine. This was completed at a significant cost to the seller and it shows beautifully! The boat is stunning in its cream hull, dark blue sheer, copper bottom and maroon boot top! It's spectacular against it bright-finished deck and interior appointments. The deck and interior brightwork look factory fresh. The solid teak deck was installed by former Lyman shop forman Don Forrest in the 1980's. It was recaulked and refinished in 2018. Ribbon-striped mahogany is everywhere and the interior is gorgeous! Chrome and stainless hardware were redone as well. Mechanical The boat is powered by a set of 270 hp counter-rotating Crusaders with approximately 200 hrs since remanufactured. These are GM blocks so parts are readily available. These motors were blue printed and balanced in the early 2000's. New 63 gallon gas tanks were installed at that time. Power is smooth and strong and a terrific match for this hull. The trailer is homemade and designed to fit the bottom of this boat. Seller claims it pulls securely at 55-60 mph. Optional Equipment This boat has everything you need for a day on Lake Erie! It comes with air conditioning, sink, stove, stand up head, 5 piece mooring cover by Lesch Canvas, fume detector, fire extinguisher, side curtains and a stereo. Overview This boat is an incredible piece of Lyman history. It was one of only 3 Flybridge Sedans made in 1972 and was the second to the last 30' hull Lyman produced in wood. It has been well loved and well maintained by several long term owners. No disappointments here! Please call Jim at 513 678 9379.
