1960 Chris Craft 17' Sportsman priced at $11,900
Vintage Bros Boat Sales is proud to offer for sale this beautiful 17' Sportsman. It's the same hull as the 1959-61 Ski Boat K-17 series but was only produced in 1960 with 285 units in the production run.
This value of this boat is in its originally. It's a time-capsule.
At Vintage Bros we are antique and classic boat enthusiasts first and boat brokers second. We love selling boats we would love to own ourselves!
The hull # of this boat is CUA-17-156 making it the 156th one produced of a total production run of 285 units. The hull could use a coat of varnish but presents well for a user. The plank seams are tight and the grain of the Philippine mahogany is stunning. It has it's original bottom and requires soak up.
I believe the interior is original. Many late 50's early 60's Chris Craft interiors had silver piping where the different colors meet just as this one does. The steering wheel has some patina but show well. The gauges are clear and easy to read with the hour meter showing just 187 hours!
The engine is a 185hp Chris Craft 283. This is a Chevrolet block. The seller told me that the boat has been out of the water for the last 5 or 6 years so plan on dealing with bad gas, cleaning fuel lines and rebuilding the carburetor. Typical old boat stuff. The seller did say it ran good with that engine the last time it was in the water. The boat comes with a road worthy trailer.
What a cool, original Chris Craft. A time capsule representing a boating era gone by. They are only original once. Please call Jim at 513 678 9379.
