This boat underwent a restoration by the current owner’s father that included a new 3M 5200 bottom. The boat can go in the water dry with no soak up. At the same time the boat was refinished with original Chris-Craft stain with many coats of varnish. The finish is beautiful on this boat. In typical late 50s Chris Craft fashion the philippine mahogany hull sides are highly figured and beautifully refinished, with one plank port side aft of the boat having been replaced on near the transom.
The interior color theme for many 1957 Chris Craft models was turquoise this boat pictures of replacement interior replicated to that very color. You'll notice the vinyl is tight clear and clean with no abnormal wear and tear. The steering wheel appears fresh with no cracks and the gauges are clear and easy to read. The plexiglass windshield is in excellent condition as well
This boat features a KFL Hercules 6 cylinder flathead motor. It's believed that this is the original motor to the boat. This motor has been rebuilt and runs great with recent tune up and carburetor rebuild in October of 2019. There is a video of this boat running featured on the website the trailer of this boat is a dual axle been reconditioned and has been recently towed across country and it fits the bottom of the boat perfectly.
This Chris Craft Sportsman is better than driver quality and could be proudly displayed at any boat show in the country. It runs well and sounds fantastic!
