Vintage Bros is thrilled to offer this breathtaking piece of pleasure boating history for sale! 'BAMBI' is hull # 3021 making her boat number 22 of 169 produced between 1929 and 1931. It is an absolute feast for the eyes!
This boat has to be one of only a handful of 28' Chris Craft Runabouts that still exist in these production years. It is arguably the nicest one in the western hemisphere! It's jaw-dropping!

BACK STORY
A number of professional restoration shops were involved in the restoration of this boat. The information here-in was gleaned from conversations with those restorers.
This boat was found in New Hampshire and was purchased in very rough condition. The original engine was not with the boat at this time. Restoration began, and over quite a few years was completed. This included sourcing and locating the original power-plant to the boat!
HULL
The bottom of this boat has been replaced in the 3M 5200 method. The inner planking was done per factory spec in the same herringbone pattern as original. Above the waterline all frames and planking have been replaced. The grain of the planking is stunning.
INTERIOR
No expense was spared in replicating the beautiful dark green interior. The result is stunning! The original gauge cluster is ornate and quite upscale which is what you would expect with such a special boat. The four-spoke steering wheel is restored and looks fantastic.
MECHANICAL
The power plant is an A-70. This 1500 lb behemoth is said to be original to the boat. At 825 CI, and 250 hp,it is an engineering marvel. This V-8 engine was Chris Craft's own design and was known for having loads of torque. The trailer is a 2015 Nextrail triple-axle, 4 bunk unit with brakes. The bunks were made to fit the hull of this boat.
